Kwania became a District in July 2018 curved out of the Apac District. Basically, to enhance service delivery to the communities.

The name Kwania originated from the word “Kwan” which means to study, It’s believed that, Education in Lango Sub-region started from the area, While the community was trying to pronounced letter A in the Local language, with teachers trying to tell them that “Kwan ni A” literally meaning pronounced letter A, this then became the name “Kwania”.
